he great walking-adventure on Crete; join in for the famous Samaria gorge! The Samaria Gorge was proclaimed a National Park in 1962 and it hides a wealth of natural beauty. We offer an early pick up in the morning as to be one of the first groups to arrive. You will start at an altitude of 1200 m. and descend until sea level. This 17 kms long walk through beautiful landscape is tough but unforgettable and covers an average walking time of 5 to 6 hours. At the end of the walk in the village of Agia Roumeli at the south coast you have the opportunity for a refreshing swim in the Libyan Sea or to enjoy a meal at one of the local taverns.
The group will meet again to continue by boat from Agia Roumeli to Chora Sfakion, from where our bus will return you to your hotel.
Walkers should be in good shape without health problems and wear appropriate walking shoes!
Boat-departure from Agia Roumeli at around 17.30 hrs.
Entrance fee gorge and boat-fare are not included.
Bring along: comfortable clothing, a cap, a (salty) snack, a bottle of water,
swim wear + sun block.
No meals included.
